Step 5: Exterination Runs Empty Step 5: Exterination Runs

It is said that if the enemy knows how to use fear, it knows how to feel fear.

While Legendary itself can be challenging when the player(s) loose their focus, it is far from an overly challenging experience. Mythic or Legendary All Skulls On (LASO) isn't so much a difficulty rating as it is a way to introduce challenges to speed runs.

LASO promotes avoiding sections all together. I, Thanos, do not believe in speeds runs that leave enemies alive. I believe in Extermination Runs. How fast can a universe be wiped out completely?

For this, I molded my own universe that I have dubbed Noble. Here, the universe is as menacing as it can be, while trying not to promote avoidance of encounters. I hope that some day, the skulls of Halo2 can be added on top of what we already have to create an even more devious existence.

    Noble Difficulty:
    Legendary +
Iron (it must be done with no deaths when co-oped)
    Tough Luck
    Catch
Tilt (more realistic damage mechanics vs the Covenant)
    Mythic
    Thunderstorm
    Cowbell
    No IWBYD or GBP skulls

No enemy may live. Enemy spawn resetting/canceling is not allowed.
B.O.B.s count as bonus kills (+1).

    Winter Contingency:
The datapad Elite is a bonus kill.
The Skirmisher that escapes at the beginning is a bonus kill.
The section where Kat is attempting to hack the door, the players must remain outside till even the Banshee is eliminated.

    ONI: Sword Base:
    No known provisions.

    Nightfall:
    No forklift glitching.

    Long Night of Solace:
Only beached landing parties must be exterminated.
Must confirm if escort fighters spawn indefinitely. If not, then all escort craft must be downed before the Phantoms are.

    Tip of the Spear:
The Banshees at the beginning are bonus kills.
The Banshees mid-level must be dispatched (unless the spawn indefinitely).
Missing the Zealot is a penalty point.

    Exodus:
It is ok to not kill every enemy or Banshee during the Falcon escort section. Killing the most/all Banshees during that section will usually determine "best" performance however.

    New Alexandria:
Anything that engages you must be taken down.
All buildings must be investigated for turrets.
Club Errera must be cleared. Taking down the 4 Hunters is a greater reward than taking down the Dico Party.

    the Pillar of Autumn:
Bonus point per Scarab rider kill.
Bonus point per kill after the Cruiser becomes vulnerable.

    Lone Wolf:
How long can you survive? How many go down with you?

You do not have to post your results, you merely must complete the game once, in any combination of single player and co-op, within the Noble Universe as a challenge to you. It is my challenge to you. It is one I feel worthy of prestige. The kind that cannot not be taken once earned.

Are you a puppet or are you a Spartan?

    Way too tough for me.

Hell, without the Golden Skulls and Thunderstorm or Famine, this might be feasibly possible. Be interesting with Iron still on, but certainly not impossible (though I shudder to think of the final fight against the brutes on PoA. At least this time I'll have the secret DMR cache for ammo.)

Alas, should time be on my side, I shall attempt this challenge.

The no deaths is the challenge I believe.

1 hint for the first stage. When you get to the first Elite Strike Squad, sneak around them as if you were doing the LASO run (make sure you kill the Grunts first so they don't disappear, those are negative points) and grab the vehicle. Load up Carter and Jorge and turn around and go back, the Falcon will provide cover fire while you joust-run the Elites.

Make long strafing runs as they will bombard you with stickies.

If you're lucky, the Falcon get's jacked so you can jack it back and therefore use it till nearly the end of the Trooper search.

My first ARC did not make long strafing runs on the Elites. Knocked 5 out of 7 in 1 run, including the General but 2 Legendary Ultras with Catch on bombarded it into oblivion when it slowed too soon and too close.

For those guys I ended up sneaking around like on LASO, but I actually managed to sneak up and Assassinate a few of them before they noticed. Noble team was distracting them and with 4 left, I just bunkered down wth my Pistol and Plasma Pistol back behind the road barrier. Took out two more, ran into the pack. Almost got taken out by the 6th one, but moved just in time and got another assassinate. Last one was a charged plasma shot, a punch to the gut, and a Plazzie before running my ass off in the opposite direction. Not sure if I killed it with that or if Noble Team finished it off, but he was dead when I came back out of cover.

If you don't consider that dishonorable, then I suppose that would make it easier.
