Welcome to our own little slice of paradise. This is the next step in an attempt I made a few years ago to find a... select group of members within the Halo community. What started is a little hidden message board buried deep in the mess of the hell hole known as GameFAQs is now expanding outward into it's own dominion. In an attempt to escape the overly-competitive and highly arrogant horde of mutliplayer gamers, a secret society was born. A society of Halo gamers that were involved because of the thrill of a good story and the promise of an intelligent conversation (no 3 head-shot talk and BK language here.) But as the society started to grow and we were finally starting to pump out some juicy content, we were shut down. We fought to keep it alive, but our attempts were futile and we were shut down before we could ever begin.

Now we're back and we're in control. The name is an ode to an old community I frequented for several years and I hope by doing this I may be able to track some of them down. Some of our members will be old members from that group and others will be from the secret society, but I imagine most of you will be newcomers and I say welcome. You h ave just become the most recent member in a very enthusiastic and dedicated portion of HaloNation.

Now before I let you go, there are some rules. I hate rules and personally I would rather break them than make them, so I'm going to keep them simple and limited.

1. No disrespect outside of the Bullshit forums. You can debate and bicker amongst your peers, but keep it under control or I will be forced to put an end to it myself and punishment will be doled out if necessary.

2. Foul language is allowed as I don't believe in Censorhip, but keep it tasteful. If I see a post that says "fuck this fuck that fuck him fuck her" I will be forced to remove it. Again, keep that trash to the Bullshit lounge.

3. No pornography, no guts, no gore. Pretty much nothing you would want your great-grandmother to see you with. There are going to members under 18 and I don't want to risk providing pornography for minors. That's Google's job.

Honestly, that's about it. Try to keep the content to their respective boards. If you post in the wrong board, either delete it and re-post it or message one of the mods or myself and we can have it move for you.

Very nice with all of this. Query. By no guts, do you mean no real-life guts and it's ok to show content that shows gore but is well GoW or something... Or no guts at all?

Real life. I can't be going and banning videogame content. It'd look hypocritical of me to change it if halo ever added it to future games.

They are actually very fair unlike GFaqs. Anyway im new Mingy sent me an Xbox message. I dont know if this is like a private thing where you only sent out messages to certain people or everyone not an elitist on GFaqs but whatever. I like how i cant break out my inner halo nerd and not be attacked by elitists and six year olds who apparently have done my mother and have hot girlfriends

Welcome glad to have you aboard. We're not private by any means. Anybody is welcome that shares a passionate interest in the halo universe. Those people you mentioned are what we strive to get away from. There's a huge universe to explore and they stifle that with their BR and k/d talk.


I'm alsoworking on putting together a team of people to manage the site and do writing and research in the future when this place gets more active, so if your interested you might show off what you've got to offer to the halo universe. Liking for talent and creativity of all sorts.

Yeah, this isn't meant to be that exclusive. I simply decided to contact all the story enthusiasts I could find. It's more difficult than I remember, especially since a lot of them aren't on GameFAQS anymore.

If you know some people who like to discuss Halo, spread the word.

Thats what i thought i just wasnt sure. But ill be more than glad to help with the site if you need it. ive played all the games multiple times, ive read all the books and a few others. I havent read the comic (i have read the graphic novel but its been a while). If you need help just post ill probably be on these forums a decent amount i can express my inner halo nerd without being called a nerd.

I certainly have no right to judge. You've seen my story and canon topic.

my friend is gonna sign up he doesnt know a lot but i let him borrow my books. You certainly know a lot more then me but whenever my friends need to know something they turn to me.

Feel free to advertise publicly. I'm trying to avoid posting at GameFAQs because H3 and Reach are filled with MP nuts and ODST is filled with 2 million lonely souls trying to find people to do Endure and 200k. Other than that, though, I don't think going public is an issue and if I really have to I'm not afraid to make liberal use of the ban button I'm just looking to get an active and mature community going. The actual website being worked on right now is going to be the main meat of the site once it's all setup and we get the editorials and interviews flowing. As long as we can keep creative content flowing and make our updates consistent we should definitely be able to work ourselves into a powerful position in the community.

Unfortunately, that means the forums go to shit. I've had thoughts about segregating this forum and making a second section for main members and making the part we have now an exclusive community for originals and more dedicated fans. We're able to set up usergroups on here, so private clubs are possible if we really want to.

I say we cross that bridge when we get there. We may even be able to get some very dedicated mods to assist with that kind of thing.

Oh yeah. I'm not gonna start acting on that yet by any means. Still have a long way to go before we can hope for that. Right now we have 8 members. Don't think that's gonna be an issue. lol. I just like to think ahead and be prepared for these things so that I'm not running around like a loon when the time comes. I'm trying to figure out all the tools and features I have access to so I can know what my options will be and what I can do to preserve both of my goals.

I want to create a big, popular website and make a name in the industry and create potential job opportunities (not necessarily in the game industry like the guys at AJ) but I also want a fun, dedicated site just to explore Halo lore with people that share a common interest. I'm trying to make both goals one in the same since and I'm trying to create opportunities for other members as well (I still think that Timeline FAQ would be something worth fleshing out and publishing, by the way.)

More and more gaming journalists are being discovered from forums and blogs nowadays. It's truly a wonderful age. I'm ready to assist the site's foundation in whatever capacity.

Go for it. Write fanfics, do walkthroughs, make glitching videos or machinima, do whatever you can think to do. I'm working on content out the wazoo right now for the website so it's not just some shell when we launch it, but there's always room for more.

Well, you're planning on going a LP, correct? I'll leave that to you (or anybody that can actually play this game ). Fanfiction and Machinima appeal to my artsy side, for certain. After I get the fanfic out of my system, I'll start brainstorming editorials to run by you. I'd like to get the drop on FUD and the HBO story page on a Reach subplot analysis (assuming Reach even has one).

Like i said before ill be willing to help as best as i can also. If we get really popular then the whole private forum would be cool. but if you get noticed then this would be awesome to be one of the original members (i believe i was 6 or 7).

Also as i was typing this i feel as though im trying to force myself into the conversation. Ill calm down with the posting. Sorry.

I've actually had ideas for machinima being thrown around in my head, but I've never been able to do anything like it because of my unfortunate position (Being married sucks. Avoid at all costs. lol)

Back before Halo 2 came out I saw a machinima somebody did where they took the audio from the first part of the Matrix and re-enacted it using entirely Halo Footage. With Forge World and Firefight I think it would be awesome to recreate entire movies like the Matrix and 300 with in-game footage. Be one helluva task to undergo (If I didn't have a wife that calls my name every 5 minutes and won't let me use my communicator I would be all for getting people together and organizing that. Alas, my project must be... quieter and less involved with other people.

( She made me pass up a job with a $70,000 salary just because she doesn't want to leave the state and move away from her parents. Next time I get an opportunity like that it comes before her. Swear to god it is.)

if you dont mind me asking where do you live? also wow that does suck though Id rather make 70000 than live near my wifes parents (im not marrried but you know what i mean) i am personally on xbox most of the time currently no GF and most of my friends are also on xbox.

Go for it. I don't play online much unless I'm trying to get achievements, but I've got a keyboard and I'm always up for a chat on there or an odd match or two on whatever game sometimes (though, again, no mic)

when reach comes out ill be on nothing but reach until Fallout: New Vegas and even then ill be on reach most of the time. The possibilities will be endless.

And that sucks about the mic any ideas post em maybe we can get something going.

With Borderlands putting out it's 4th DLC next month (Interplanetary Ninja Assassin FTW!) and Halo Reach coming soon, I'm going to have my hands full for a little while gaming-wise. Halo Reach I'm shooting for 100% of the achievements in under 48 hours, so I've got my work cut out for me (Even took the day off from both of my jobs on Launch day to get as much progress made as possible.)
